Westchester resident here,, and yes the facilities at Clarkstown were very impressive. It's easy to see why they have good ball players. They had little leaguers playing under the lights at 10pm on Saturday night at Zuker Complex!! Awesome for those kids! That Jorden kid is a very good player. Congrats to the entire team for winning the tournament.
As for all the talk about Mamaroneck whether they are a top team or not in Westchester will be answered in a few short weeks. Their results during Section One playoffs will determine on how they should be ranked and if they are deserving of all the hype. One thing is for sure they will be stronger next year with many juniors coming back.
Good luck to all HS teams during playoffs.

baseball73,
If you would have actually read wha tI said and thought it through before jumping to conclusions then you could have just saved yourself a lot time. I never said that if Mamaroneck was on they would have been beaten Bosco, I said that it would have been a lot better game then it was. I personally believe that Don Bosco is the best high school baseball team that I have ever seen but to say that Mamaroneck only has those stats because they have been playing weak oppnents is completely out of line. Last time I checked Arlington, Clarkstown Norh, and Cenntenial weren't so shabby and yes they play in a weak leauge but they have no control over that which is why they scheduele oppnents like Arlington, Bosco, and Cenntenial. And if you have ever watched this Mamaroneck team before, then you would know exactly what I mean by how they were "off". That is no excuse what so ever about why they lost because Bosco was the flat out better team. All I was saying was that it would have been a much more exciting game if Mamaroneck the plays that they usually do 9 times out of 10 and thats it, I never even hinted that their would have been a different outcome so please think before you attack someone next time.

if you want to call fordham's loss to george washington a moral victory, go ahead...but then what do you call fordham's 11-4 loss to tottenville yesterday?
the team that emerged this weekend is clarkstown south...they beat guilderland in dramatic fashion in the championship of the norteast elite tournament......guilderland beat george washington 6-2 yesterday and clarkstown south beat regis and james monroe to get to the final.....

that is a very well run tournament with all excellent teams..
.and if you want to compare hs baseball facilities you have to start with the clarkstown south. perfect infield, outfield grass like a golf course. wide margins from foul lines to dead ball lines. major league dimensions around home plate..terrific public address system with great music between innings and a coherent announcer that introduces each player when he comes to bat....the best i have seen including the aforementioned bosco and iona and mamamaroneck where i have been...never saw ketcham but heard it is great...

I was trying to compliment Hagan when I said he was the reason the score was ONLY 7 - 0. I was at the game and thought he pitched very well considering the errors. I believe Mamaroneck is a very good team I just don't think they are in Don Bosco's league. That's not a diss at Mamaroneck just a compliment to Bosco. As far as the Fordham comment I just wanted to mention that I felt the level of talent was more equal when they played Don Bosco. Fordham's number 3 went D1 as well. I was reiterating the statement by infieldfly that Fordham Prep was pretty good. Yes, they lost most of their great players. They lost to George Washington 5 - 4 yesterday.

Section 1.

I hate to play devil's advocate but your assesment of Mamaroneck is way off. The stats you are throwing out there are against weak oppnenets so to say they are so good and they were off is ignorant. Bosco is in a different league and that is that. If they played them 20 times they wouldn't beat them. Now that doesn't take away from Mamraoneck but your expectations are off and it is not fair to the kids on Mamaroneck. In a way you are making excuses and there is no need. They played hard and weren't afraid. But to think that if they were"on" it would be a different outcome is just flat out wrong. The bat speed, fundamentals, execution, mechanics of Bosco is so much superior than Mamaroneck. Bosco is an all-star team, mamroneck isnt..so be realistic with your analysis.

South will be graduating only 3 starters. Look for this team next year. They are not afraid to invite some of the best teams to their tournament. This was to be their rebuilding year, however, they are now to be a team to look out for. South's coach always feels it is important to challenge his players.

Fan, FYI Bosco threw there number 3 against Fordham Prep as well a pitcher who is pitching at D1 Campbell University in NC. Bosco is a legit baseball power. Proscia hit a 3 run bomb late to win it. Yes Fordham had plenty of opportunities to win it but the better team pulled it out. Fordham had some very good players as did Bosco. The field was loaded with D1 talent. I think Fordham graduated most of their better players. Bosco will be strong again next year. Schedule them if you can.

Fan,
Please make sure you know your facts before you make bold statements like that. Hagen pitched a solid game yesterday. He may have left a few pitches up but that was it. Mamaroneck was just very off yesterday. Entering into the game, they have only let up 6 errors in the infield all season long and then they let up 5 just in yesterdays game alone. Dearwester has not let up a stolen base all season and then yesterday he let two of his throws get away from him. The fact that this team played this off and that they were still in the game for most of the game really shows how good they are but thats baseball. Teams are going to have bad days especially when they have been playing almost perfect and its unfortunete that for Mamaroneck it came yesterday because I feel it could have been a real good game if they were on.

all the returning fordhanm prep d-1 players lost 2 more games yesterday at the south tournament. good teams must have good #3 starters. good teams don't try to spread their games or avoid non-league games or tournaments because they "don't have the pitching".....clarkstown south , after winning two more games yesterday against regis and james monroe, need to be recognized as a top tier team in the power rankings. all their losses were early against very good teams.
