I just talked to Mike Chiapparelli, who said his club’s game at Don Bosco Prep this afternoon is still on. Obviously, it’s rained on and off today and it’s pretty wet out, but for now they plan on playing.
I’ll post here promptly if the game is washed out. If you are going over and don’t know the way, you can get directions here on the Don Bosco website.
The expected pitching matchup is Mamaroneck LHP Sean Hagan, a St. John’s recruit, vs. Bosco LHP Eric Pfisterer, a Duke signee. The word is that Pfisterer throws 90 with good breaking stuff, so he should prove quite the challenge for the Tigers’ lineup.
I’ll have much more later, including live updates on the game. Hope to see a few of you there…

thanks for the update and the directions…....On the way over or on the way back I might stop and watch part of a game in the Clarkstown South Northeast Elite Tournament going on today and tomorrow at South…thanks to the person who told me to check out the Clarkstown South web page…..They have an updated bracket with times and fields of all games…..Very impressive 8 team tournament once again….They should get better publicity with teams like Monroe , Tottenville, GW—-all perennial top NY State teams facing off against each other.
South 2 Regis 1 top of the fourth
I love how if you run a tournament and throw the word "Elite" in the title you can make the tournament sound so much more important or that all the teams are actually 'elite".
Elite LOL,
I think the team that you are trying to bash won the "Elite Tournament" Maybe all the teams are "actually elite"...Too bad that the joke is on you this time…LOL!!
It is an elite tournament if you research the teams that are invited to the tournamenteach year. Every year more and more established baseball programs call trying to get in. This year since most of the teams were from the city it was a wood bat tournament. This should have been a hige disadvantage to South but they came on strong again. Look who gets invited to the other local tournaments. Nobodies
yeah it is elite actually so relax over there bud…South doesnt invite all smaller schools like east ramapo does and all those other joke tournaments..South invites the best teams they possibly can, these teams will only lose 17 games in 5 years and they all have all-state players
The team that South beat on Sunday was ranked 10th in the state. George Washington was previously unbeaten. It is an elite tournament.
It is funny that people don't like the word "Elite". Those that don't usually are somewhat jealous of those that use it in a title. Kudos to South for hosting such an ELITE tournament filled with ELITE teams!
