The League I-C killer

May

cj.jpgC.J. Riefenhauser did it again.

The Mahopac senior LHP beat yet another League I-C opponent, this time stopping Ketcham 8-2 to end the Indians’ undefeated start (12-0) to the regular season.

I know Jake mentioned Mahopac’s win before, but how about Riefenhauser. The Iona-bound ace improved to 6-1 and now has a 2.05 ERA. He’s K’d 36 in 34 innings and allowed just 20 hits.

Others pitchers have excellent stats, but Riefenhauser has yet again made his presence known inside perhaps the toughest league in Section 1. This year he’s 3-1 against John Jay-East Fishkill, Arlington and Ketcham in 22 IP after going 5-1 in 40.2 IP vs. Arlington, Carmel, Ketcham and JJEF last year.

I know a reader from Ketcham claimed his team was waiting to face a good pitcher. Obviously, the Indians got what they asked for.

Trust me, CJ hasn't even hit his stride yet. You have yet to see him dominate like he will over the next month. When he takes the mound, its over. He will say the same thing because he gave up a hit or a run. Best pitcher in Section 1 without a doubt.

  2. bb

Iona could use him this year.

  3. dude

this kid is not good. absolutely terrible

  4. ridiculous

you really have to be kidding me…. he has 6 wins already this season with only 1 loss and his stats are incredible i dont know how your going to even try and say that he is a terrible pitcher

  5. Whoa

If CJ had an infield behind him, he would be even better.

  6. bbfan1

Hey Dude you most be really jealous if you are saying he's a terrible pitcher. CJ is an amazing pitcher.

I wouldn't worry about Ketcham. Everyone has their off day and yesterday was theirs. 3 of their 4 starting pitchers have ERA's of less than 1. This is a tough section. No one was going to go undefeated. They came back tough today and beat Mahopac 10-2 for 2 out of 3.

  8. League 1-C

Cj is a very good high school pitcher, but might have trouble making the adjustment to the next level, even in the MAAC. He just doesnt throw hard enough and needs a better changeup and two seam fastball.

League One C is shaping up to be a hellof a run down the stretch, with Arlington taking two out of three from JJEF. if arl and JJEF can both take two out of three from ketcham itll be close

  9. FTA

CJ aint that good. All he throws is crap offspead pitches. Mike Volpe is the best pitcher in section 1.

  10. Smah

Mike Volpe is overrated people should jump of his and zack grazycks jock and start seeing how a real team plays
