Carmel-Mahopac I washed out

May
9

The Carmel at Mahopac game was rained out today, delaying the highly anticipated three-game set between rivals until Tuesday.

There is perhaps only one positive stemming from the rain out, but it’s pretty sweet. Barring more inclement weather, Carmel-Mahopac will play a classic series next week. They are scheduled to meet Tuesday at Carmel, followed by games at Mahopac on both Wednesday and Thursday.

This is a total guessing game, but I’d imagine the series will setup like this:

Tuesday — C.J. Riefenhauser (Mahopac) vs. Mike Volpe (Carmel)

Wednesday — Anthony Castellitto (Mahopac) vs. Zack Graczyk (Carmel)

Thursday — Luke Gimarro (Mahopac) vs. Sal Palmiero (Carmel)

If anyone has info on the scheduled starters, please pass it along.

this is the type of series that separate this league from others—two very succesful programs playing three in a row.the volpe -riefenhauser matchup is a great one.two d-1 type pitchers.both teams will benefit with this series come playoffs.

Its going to be a great series, but Josh Thompson you are wrong. carmel is going to win the series. They are a far better team. Mahopac is dependent on CJ and Castellitto to do all the work for them. They're not that good. CJ has nothing but offspeed stuff and Castellito has a flat fastball. Volpe is by far the best pitcher in section 1. Come to the games and see!

blogger…I'll be there Thursday, so we'll see what happens this week. I think you're being a little unfair on CJ and Castellitto, but we'll see if the Rams back up your words.

Blogger, i think that you are extremely mistaken Mahopac is by far the better team. They have the best three pitchers in section I by far in Riefenhauser,Castellito, and Giumarro and a phenominal lineup 1-9. If Mahopac played in a little leauge field with 300 foot fences like Carmel did it would be unfair of how many home runs and RBI's Pete DiResta and Pat Farina would have
