Two huge games up north

May
13

Two rivalry games tonight and they go to Yorktown and Mahopac.

I was under the lights at Lakeland, where Yorktown just beat the Hornets for the second time in four days, 6-5, giving the ‘Huskers full command in League II-North.

Looks like C.J. Riefenhuaser beat Carmel 4-1 to give Mahopac the first leg of the three-game set.

I’ll have more after I write my story about Yorktown-Lakeland. Until then…

JJ ONLY OUTSCORES THE "HOT" TAPPEN TEAM 23-0 BEFORE GIVE UP TWO MEANINGLESS EARNED RUNS AT THE END OF THE THEIR TWO GAME SWEEP. I WONDER IF THEY FALL FURTHER IN THE RANKINGS? THEY ARE ONLY 15-1. NEXT UP FOR JJ WILL BE SOMERS. MAYBE JJ LIKES THE RODNEY DANGERFIELD LABEL OF "NO RESPECT"

  2. yorky

they should play some real teams. You know like at least a few

  3. Whoa

Best pitcher in Section 1 beat Carmel last nite.

  4. PM

best pitcher in section 1 is avilas from suffern

  5. Mamk fan

    Hagan

  6. Top 5 Pitchers

    In no particular order:

    Adami, Volpe, Hagan, C.J.Riefenhauser, Aviles.
Honorable mention Green (until he pitches against a real team)

  7. Section 1 Fan

    Green is the real thing

  8. Greg

    green> the whole maopac staff

    Fact

  9. Whoa

Mahopac faces real teams dude. Please dont compare them to anyone except some pitchers in C.

reifenhauser only threw around 100 pitches yesterday which is about 50 below his average. he usually goes 7 innings every game throwing 150 pitches…yes 150 pitches. thats disgusting the mahopac coach should be ashamed he should know better than that. no way should a 17 year old be throwing 150 pitches every 4-5 days

Disgusted, what are your credentials as a pitching coach. Not saying your wrong just asking so other will understand.
I don't want to hear that you stayed at a Holiday Inn last night!!

  12. Paul C

150 pitches, that can't be right

  13. Paul C

    Greg,

I have to agree with you on Green, not sure about the whole staff but at least half.

  14. hagan Heat?

I saw 2 games with Mamaroneck and the coaches call all the pitches. And they are calling more than half the pitches to be curve balls. . To be throwing more than 50% of your pitches as curves is ridiculous. He throws high 80 fastballs… besides a changeup he does not need the curveball in high school. Does anyone else see anything different? Am I seeing things or is he throwing more than 50% curveballs?

my credentials as a pitching coach? none. i pitched in college at virginia commonwealth….i can say from experience of pitching myself to watching hundreds of games, that throwing up to 150 pitches regulary probably isnt the best thing for a young pitchers arm. especially for a kid who will be playing at the next level.

  16. coach

I agree. As a pitching coach 150 pitches is way to much especially when he is signed to play at the next level. I am sure Iona is not happy with this.

  17. John

Iona will be happy with him their 4-30 this year!
