  2. hsbaseballfan

What teams are in the Mahopac Tournament this weekend? Any idea who plays who?

  3. tm

Looks like Tuckahoe is going to be the league champs in C…Vahalla has been on a slide. I dont care if they are playing against bigger schools, the lost to Edgemont. Keio and Tuckahoe in the finals..

  4. mahopac tourney

jjcr plays mahopac in the first round

  5. pelham fan

    thanks Josh

Tuckahoe is a very solid team, but dont forget even though Valhalla is on a slide, they have the potential to play with anyone in C, as evident by games they played earleir this season, I belive it is a total threew team race between Valhalla, KEio and Tuckahoe, all 3 of those teams can easily win it all it just all depends on who gets hot, but im going to go with KEio becasue of their pitching

  7. hsbaseballfan

Thanks "mahopac" who else is in it? Fox Lane I believe….

    Josh,

In looking a North's remaining schedule they are only going to play a total of 21 games with two of there games played against teams in lower classes. So they will not be counting towards seating leaving them with 19 games. How is this going to affect their seating in schedules? There are a lot of unhappy players and team members on the team that were suppose to have a strong showing since almost everyone came back.

  9. Brewster?

    Where is Brewster?

  10. bb

I just witnessed the most classless act by a parent at the Suffern South game. A parent whose son quit the South team because of lack of playing time came to the game and stood by the south dugout and rooted for Suffern and clapped everytime a south player struck out. He also yelled encouragement to Avilas. Screaming come on Robbie strick them out. After questioning some parents on South's team I found out the father was kol kalaba's father. This is a disgrace. Even though you might not agree with the coaches to take it out on the players was a disgrace.

  11. Raider

There was a parent at the North Rockland game too yesterday that was rooting against south. i know he wasn't one of our parents. Wonder if it was the same guy.

  12. Viking1

It was the same parent that came to both games. As if it's not bad enough to not honor you commitment to your team and take away a spot from another player that is willing to earn their playing time or be there when needed whan a starter is injured. What lesson has the parent ingrained in their child about be a commited team member? What will happen to this kid when he enters the real world and has a job and decides it's ok to keep walking away when it gets tough? This is a very very sad situation to see and this dad should really take a good look at his actions. What's even worse, do you think any coaches will consider his younger children in the future?

  13. North Parent

That is absolutly unacceptable to follow a team around and heckle the players. The players did not do anything to his son besides play better. That father should stop stalking the team. He seems rather unbalanced. We might have some problems at North but no parent would ever cheer against their own team.

  14. player

What is going on with Wanamaker for Nyack he has only pitched 4 innings this year. He was supposed to be one of their top pitchers this year. Also what about Ryan Maffei from TZ he also has not pitched this year and was to be a force.

  15. SICK

What a psycho this parent must be. Which leads to the question… Why the hell would anyone want to coach a high school team? There are so many places where a parent gets upset that their kid is not playing and flat out makes the coaches life miserable, by complaining to administration, by questioning the coaches non stop, by trying to rally other parents against the coach etc. These people are sick, the coach should say "hey moron, you did not buy a ticket to this game, and we don't need to hear your s***, why don't you get a life, and I am sorry your son has your athletic genetics, which is why he was not a starter before he quit." THen there are the situations where a team is not winning much, and the parents get nuts over the coach because the parent does not want to admit to themselves that junior is just not very good and neither is the talent on the team.

  16. curve ball

there is no reason any coach needs to put up with that kind of nonsense…let alone, coach Rich Wirchansky, who i have become a big fan of. last year i watched his team beat george washington and this year i watched south beat guilderland in the final game of a very impressive 8 team tournament….south clarskstown runs the best hs baseball tournament in this area..the best psal teams, chsaa teams and some upstate power houses are all invited,,,,,if some clown is screaming obnoxiously , why by the should he not be removed from the viewing area? first the umpires , and then
by the local police department…........but i don't think it bothers coach Wirchansky, because he seems very willing to challenge the best teams he can find, knowing that losing does not matter in the end when you are developing young baseball talent…

  17. jjef

jjef just swept roy c ketcham. kind of unexpected huh? ketcham is really reeling right now.

  18. truth

But what about the great baseball facilities at Ketcham ? Didn't I hear that all the best players flock from JJEF to Ketcham because of the great program? What happened?

  19. Baseball admirer

This parent is absolutly nuts. My son played against his younger son on clarkstown rec ball and he was sreaming so much he was told to leave the gym because of the threats he made. His son who quit the south team did not play at all in the apring because of a hamstring. It is funny that this was the same injury he ahd last spring and as soon as the season starts he is ok and wants to immediatley start. Wirchansky is a class act and one of the best coaches. He is supportive of all his players and always pushes them to their limit. That is why he has three D1 players playing in college this year and will have two D2 players playing next year.

  20. Dutchess BB Fan

Ketcham died when Mackey from JJEF hit the single in game one of the series to win it when JJEF was down to their last strike. They have been beaten in all phases by JJEF and out-coached too. While most would have predicted an RCK sweep more likely, the tables were turned. Total team effort by JJEF who are in the driver's seat now in I-C with 3 games to go. Ketcham has lost depth in their pitching staff due to injuries and Freyhagen ran out of gas in game 1 and was allowed to throw way too many pitches.JJEF used 5 kids in the three games who all threw well. Ciocchi and Panik are great players but some of the unsung kids came through – hats off to them. Ketcham still has to face a resurgent Arlington so it could get worse for them before it gets better.

  21. Rock BB

Maffei couldn't break into the staff with his injury over the summer and has quit the team.
