Mahopac to go for sweep

The coolest three-game series in quite some time is two-thirds over and so far Mahopac has proven itself superior to crosstown rival Carmel. The Indians won again yesterday, 2-1 over the Rams, a club that’s suddenly lost five straight are are now just one game over .500. Looks like Nick Iunni had a two-run single in the third to score Pat Farina and Nick Barbalato, and their runs were all Mahopac needed.
This time it was Anthony Castellitto who held Carmel to one run. He and C.J. Riefenhauser have stymied the Rams, who have four singles and two runs through two games. They’ve done well against Zack Graczyk. The Carmel slugger is 0 for 7. … Only the ever-reliable leadoff hitter John Kiechle has been productive, with three of the four hits and one run scored.
All I have to base this on are box scores. I’ll be at the Falls School Field today as the Indians go for the sweep.
If you were there at all the last couple days, please let us know what’s happened. Sounds like the vaunted Mahopac pitching has hit its stride.
I’d expect Graczyk and Luke Giumarro to be on the bump for Game 3. If any of you know for sure, pass it along.

Neither team hit. MHS hit just enough to get by here. The pitching was obviously the difference as MHS has the studs. Carmel will have trouble making Sectionals as they did last year and have no chance of repeating the magic they had.
If the Pac cant hit its stride offensively, they will only make quarters or semi's but cant go all the way although there just arent that many great teams out there, not even mamaroneck. Will be very interesting year in the playoffs. its wide open.
Carmel's Lefty Senior, Sal Palmiero, pitched another Great! game. He gave up 4 hits in 7 innings. Mahopac had a hard time hitting off him, they couldn't get near his sidearm pitch and they new it. Carmel had opportunity twice to get runs in but it didn't happen.
