Mount vs. Iona, game 2, live updates

May
24

Ballgame – Iona made it interesting in the seventh, loading the bases and scoring two runs, but Steven Rivera held and and finished off a five hitter.

It was largely the Iona backups who showed a little life and sparked the rally so it’ll be interesting to see tomorrow’s lineup.

Bottom 4th – The best way I can describe it is this: today is one of those days where you can’t decide whether or not to take the jacket on or off, and you can’t quite decide whether to leave the sunglasses on or off. You know that feeling? Well, let’s just say this game is the exact opposite.

Nope, no such indecision here at St. Johns. There is only one description for what type of game we have. Mount came to play and looks great; Iona simply cannot claim either.

The lifeless Gaels are being owned 8-0 by Mount, which looks fantastic behind the very talented Steven Rivera. Iona has made three errors and issued four walks. Luis Alicea hit a three run triple to break the game open as part of a seven run second.

Looks like a game 3 tomorrow at 4 PM at Fordham.
