Carmel beats New Ro 16-2

Just heard from Carmel, which easily handled New Ro in its second outbracket victory in as many years. John Kiechle had four hits and six RBI and Bobby Rodriguez had four hits and five RBI on the strength of two home runs. The big news you probably want to hear is that Carmel pitched… Zack Graczyk.
Update — Sorry, my cell phone screwed up for a second. Anyway Mike Volpe will pitch tomorrow in what is an incredibly interesting game. Mamaroneck can’t be happy. Two years in a row the Tigers were very unlucky. Still, they will win if they are as good as we think.

That will make for a good game tomorrow. Volpe is a very good pitcher, however, it is Hagan that got ALL the ink this year.
By the way, did New Rochelle show up with their JV team? 16-2? OWCH. Must have been a fun ride home. Did Albero pitch for new rochelle?
Well it is playing out the way people wanted it to. If Mamaroneck can beat Carmels best and everyone else that they meet, they are the real thing. But if they come up short…
I think Mamaroneck has a tarp for their field IF the weather reports are correct though, there is no way it is happening. Hopefully they call it early and don’t waste Carmels time driving down one hour by bus.
Do you guys know who calls the game off? Is it the Home athletic director? Hopefully they won’t play games with Carmel unnecessarily.
I think Carmel would love to play in Mamaronecks league…. Keichle would have 50+ RBI and bat .850 with God knows how many stolen bases!!!
How about this.
If Mamaroneock or Carmel have their best pitchers pitching tomorrow, and then the game is cancelled in like the 4th inning due to lightning/thunder and possible tornado watch they will have to restart the whole game the next day. They do NOT continue the game the next day. It is probably in everyones best interest to call this game early. The thunder and lightning and high winds are supposed to start Saturday morning. Why bother trying to squeeze this game in sloppy/dangerous conditions. It could only help the underdog.
The game is too important to be decided on a sloppy field.
Is the only game being played tomorrow Mamar vs Carmel??? Jeez, you would think this is the only game in town! Everyone plays tomorrow, tons of great games on tap however I agree…call them all now and lets play Sunday in the good weather.
Hey, AD’s and Sect 1 guys…GET SMART!!! (like girls lax)
Hey Josh (Carmel grad) how does the Carmel New Ro game not even make your joke of a paper today???? There were 2 outbracket games yesterday and I don’t see either one of them in the paper.
Please….just like last year….keep picking against Carmel! (11-2 is your prediction for today??? ) I don’t know who wins but it will be a score like 4-3…. mark it down!!!
Agreed about the A.D.’s
Stop listening to your coaches who want to try and squeeze in todays games at 11. Cancel the games today, last time I heard it was not a good idea to be holding a big metal bat during thunder/lightning storms. Most likely the 11 o’clock games may get in 2-4 innings at best and then have to stop and re-do the who shabang the next day. Even if you do get the game in, it will be with sloppy dangerous wet conditions.
