6:16 - A little more info on that winning run: Joe Smith led off the seventh with a hit, stole second base, and moved to third on a groundout. Two batters later Gonzalez hit a sac fly to score him. The throw in was cut off by the first baseman so there was no play at the plate. Nick Modico got the win by pitching the last six innings after Ryan Tatnell got chased. That means Rich Lennox should get the start tomorrow at Dowling College against Oyster Bay. Kennedy thought the game time was 5 p.m., but stay tuned as we nail that down.Â
5:58 – Kennedy had been quiet until Gonzalez singled home a run in the seventh. They went on to win 7-6, and will play tomorrow at Dowling College against Oyster Bay.
5:25 – Ok it is now 6-6. Humphrey just hit an RBI triple for Kennedy, which had allowed six straight runs to blow a 5-0 lead.
The Gaels scored five early, two on a single by Brendan Dowd. Marlboro answered, knocking starter Ryan Tatnell out in the third and taking a 6-5 lead. Nick Modico is now on.
It is currently the bottom of the fifth. I will have more later.
4:40 – First off, you have to bear with me today. I’m off, so I’m not up in New Paltz covering todays Kennedy-Marlboro game.
That said, colleague Eric Lebowitz is passing along updates. It is 5-2 Kennedy with Marlboro batting in the second. The Gaels took a five run lead, but gave a couple back. I’ll send along more details as they come in.
