Josh,

Any news on Stine's legitimacy? I don't see how it's possible. It was probably a mistake for Mangan or Lisanti.

Josh,

You forgot to list another All-Archdiocesan:
Tony D. Negrin, Sr., Regis H.S.

I know Regis isn't a Bronx-Westchester school but Tony is a local kid out of New Rochelle. He was also a Daily News All-City pick. Thanks.

IMO.Fordham prep has probably the worst baseball coaching in the area. Progam run like a joke. Good coaches would love to have some of the talent that have played at that school. There coach is the laughing stock in the CHSAA, ask any of the other CHSAA coaches.

I think i have an idea about how Stine was voted all-division.....Let's say that each coach is able to nominate only 2 players from his team , and then is not permitted to vote for either player he nominates..So the Fordham coach nominates stine because either he is angry with his better players or disgusted after a lousy season and thinks stine worked hard and followed the rules.....The other coaches, trying to help their own nominees, vote for stine, because they do not want to help any of the other kids win the award over their own nominees......If enough coaches do the dishonest thing and not vote for who they really beleve deserves the honor this can happen.....I have seen it before in little league..

john stine was initially cut this season at fordham, but was asked to rejoin the team......but how can a player who only bats 10 times all season get an award like all division? something stinks and things like this cheapen the award for those who earned it with much more productive seasons.........someone needs to explain how this happened ..has an all-division player ever not been a starter in any past season, let alone a top player from the team he represents......

i second that from bb, there were other very qualified players for the all league team from the bronx westchester teams, such as Mangan from fordham, Nasti from Iona, Rivera from Mount, and Rodriguez from Salesian. All four of these kids had better stats than Stine and deserve to be on the list, Josh please find out.
