All-Stars on the horizon

There’s always a huge break in between the end of an athletic season and the publication of the All-Star team. No exception this year. The section comes out on July 10.
In the meantime you can start speculating about who is going to be on those teams. We’ll start with Rockland, since that’s my area of expertise. Josh can address Westchester/Putnam when he gets back from his break.
Let’s open the process with the infield. Four infielders make the first-team All-County. They qualify if they spent a majority of time at any infield position. Except catcher. Catcher gets its own slot. There can be multiple players at a single position (i.e. two shortstops). It’s all about who played the best combination of offense and defense.
Here are the candidates for first team.
Vincent Crotty, SS, Suffern
John Garcia, 3B, Tappan Zee
Anthony Gokey, 2B, North Rockland
Bobby Holmsen, 3B, Pearl River
J.D. Karol, 2B, Nanuet
Dean Lothrop, SS, Nyack
Nick Mart, 2B, Pearl River
Frank Salerno, SS, Clarkstown South
James Wrenn, 1B, Nanuet
Of those, which four deserve first-team consideration? Is there one or two that you think should definitely make the squad?

Josh Thomson has done some of everything since joining The Journal News in
March 2003. He began working for the Gannett weeklies during the winter of
2002 as a freelance writer. He joined the daily staff soon after and has
since covered various high school and pro sports. Away from sportswriting,
Josh lives in Westchester and spends his free time either with his
fiancee, Sarah, or expertly managing his various championship-winning
fantasy sports teams. He's visited 21 major-league baseball stadiums and
insists that Fenway Park and Wrigley Field are the best by far. Josh
graduated from Carmel High School in 1998, then went to Boston University,
where, in 2002, he received a degree in communications with a minor in
history.
Jake Thomases has covered baseball, hockey, girls basketball, and girls soccer for the Journal News since arriving in 2003. He previously interned at The Poughkeepsie Journal while attending Vassar College. He is socking money away under his mattress to buy the Knicks, at which time he will trade Jerome James to Cleveland for a ham sandwich.

Salerno is the most deserving on this list. Not only were his stats both offensively and defensively outstanding, but his leadership was tremendous and will be missed.
lets get real here Sean Donohue should be on this list. he played every position at least 5 times each during the season without an error. he also hit .578 with an obp of 723. the kid was just dominant
