How elite it can it be without The Bayside Yankees.
Invitations were given out to the eight teams that made the playoffs in our June tournament.Due to prior commitments the New York Nine , Team CT and the Stamford Cardinals couldn’t attend. We are happy to have two of the top teams in the North East college Select & North East Baseball replace them. And we always invite one local team and this year it is the New Rochelle Braves. An invitation was given out to the bayside Yankees. This should be a great tournament with some amazing talent. All of team rosters will be up on our web-site this week.
Josh, have there been any more college commitments that you’ve heard about?
Hey mom, bayside is over and done. once they lost the opportunity to attend certain events it was over. your son will never play for the 18 americans so the rest is as good as wpba, wba..
congrats to tom baroni on his commitment to Bates College
I guess no D1 or D2 for Baroni what a surprise when you talk the talk it would be good to walk the walk
congrats tom
Congrats Tom and Bates, both guys committing to schools for no money. what kinda of commitment is that. u guys are 2 good for that
Congratulations to Joe Smith on his commitment to Iona College!!!!
Congratulations to Joe on his D1 committment !!!!! Awesome news.
Some of the comments about Baroni appear to be from folks who aren’t paying attention. Last weekend in Jersey against the Jack Cust squad: 4 scoreless innings, 1 hit very low pitch count followed by 7 scoreless innings against the Super 17 squad, 2 hits with a total of 104 pitches over 11 innings; On Saturday at Baseball Heaven: 7 innings against the Syracuse Sportszone Braves, 1 unearned run. Throw in a GPA of around 99 and lots of heart. Congrats Tommy, Bates is lucky to have you.
congrats to joe and tom on their commitments…. both are great kids who i know will continue to show up every weekend to help their fellow rangers impress college coaches…..congrats boys!!!!
What coach in his right mind allows any pitcher to throw 111 pitches in 11 innings in one weekend in the fall after pitching an entire summer. Where were the parents to allow this.
woah woah…..first off try 104 pitches…....2nd baroni doesnt even throw hard enough to put any stress on his arm…...this just speaks to what kind of a competitor baroni is…...the kid would pitch till his left arm fell off and then begin to throw with his right arm before he would tell a coach his arm hurt and leave the game
Exactly a 17 year old can’t make a decision on his arm it is up to the adults to make that decision and protect the player and possibly his future.
you can’t be for real that any coach would bring a pitcher back the next day after throwing 4 innings. that’s borderline child abuse. what was he thinking, what were his parents and the coach thinking (obviuously nothing) to let this happen. once again, here’s a coach who cares about winning and not the health or future of a player. it don’t matter how hard you throw, that’s a bs cop out. i guess they must be short players or pitching if guys are bailing as in the JJCR kid (i got mine). it’s no reflection on the type of competitor he is and it also doesn’t speak well of his gpa because this move ain’t that bright.
Why are any of you surprised at this? Many coaches are in these positions for reasons that will always escape me. While I agree that the parents should have intervened that is not always easy. Teenage boys don’t want their parents to fight tbeir battles for them and if kids refuse to do what the coach tells them to do,they get labelled as uncoachable. I have seen it happen even if the kid is trying to protect himself which many high school pitchers have to do. A lot of these coaches forget what they are there for and lose sight of what is in the kid’s best interest. Kids are also threatened with being benched if they don’t do what the coach wants i.e. changing batting stances and the like. Some of them are in a lose-lose situation
Yes the kids will do what a coach tells them, but a parent who stands by and watches is to blame. Common sense needs to take place at all times. If the coach needs players get them and use the pitchers correctly. If he can’t do that then it is simple find another coach with half a brain.
The coach has nothing to lose the kid everything.
I wonder how many times he pitched him over the summer in one weekend.
enough!!! why dont you go worry about your own kids…..child abuse? please…...coach fletcher is a great man who would NEVER put a players future in jeopardy and tom is a very very very bright kid so im pretty sure both of them know what theyre doing…..i think everyone should stop pretending like they were theyr and knew the circumstances
i remember reading that west point and fordham had an interesst in this pitcher…..what happened? where is baits college ?
what happened at battle border? who won ? did it wash out again?
Come join the new baseball forum for Westchester,Rockland and Orange Counties. i287baseball.com
We are all set for a great weekend of baseball in Westchester with teams coming from Mass. all the way down to New Jersey. The competion will be stiff and whatever team comes out on top will deserve it. All of the rosters are now up with game schedules.Players are coming to play from Canada to Virginia and some of the top 2010-2011 recruits in the country. Check out all of the info at http://www.pcbattleattheborder.com
Hey Battle –
I’m sure the Rangers and Clippers really appreciate you putting the addresses, phone #’s, email addresses and DOB’s of all their kids on the internet. Too bad they didn’t give you their SSN’s too!
questionman
it is this weekend coming up. looks like a nice group of teams
Josh, Are there any college players from westchester county who are eligible for the 2010 MLB draft?
battle at border
I thought you said ny nine had a prior commitment and could not attend battle of border…A quick look at their website, which is usually whoefully not updated, shows they are playing games at a dumpy field in brooklyn. the glass strewn american legion dump off the belt parkway? why did they not come back?
They always play in the Youth Service tournament out there and I am pretty sure Bayside does also. The Youth service tournament has a great reputation for getting many pro scouts to attend and college recruiters.Ian and the NY 9 have been great in helping us in anyway needed. We wish like everyone that they could have attended this feild of teams.
What about Port Chester Middle School Field ? Now that’s a dumpy field. The quality of teams in the Youth Service Tournament are superior to the teams in the Fall Battle of the Border. All the scouts (college and pro) have already committed to the Brooklyn tournament which has existed for years. Bad planning by PC tournament people.
The following Weekend (Oct. 10-12) The New York Nine are hosting their own tournament out at Brooklyn American Legion. Read about it here:
http://newyorknine.org/
your right, all the recruiters and scouts committed to go to brookyn. what a stupid comment. every school is allowed to have at least 2 coaches on the road and every mlb team has an area guy who has at least 2 or 3 associates. if these scouts were locked into one location at a time not many kids would get a look.
Dumpy-
You must be named after one of the seven dwarfs except they should have called you Dopey!
Looking at the teams going to port Chester I am sure many of the scouts will make it their duty to go take a look. I know my sons team has several going. there is nothing wrong with that school field either
Thank you for your observation and we felt the same way about the Middle School field that is why it has just gone through a $60,000 renovation and new scoreboard . We have also had a profesional field crew working down at recreation park in Port Chester all week. Making a great field even better.
Who are the the teams playing in the youth service tournament?
Games are on as scheduled.
Come out and see some of the best “high school” players in the north east today and tomorrow in Port Chester. Schedule is posted at
http://www.pcbattleattheborder.com
So how did Saturday’s games go? How bout some scores? Outstanding plays or hitters/pitchers
What Happenened today? This is the link to theb log? Did any team play or win? any local guys do anything?
The Long Island Titans defeat the World Yacht
Clippers 5-4 in Dramatic fashion to win the Elite
Eight. Both teams had to defeat some stiff
competition to make the finals. We will have all of
the scores and details up later in the day with over
1000 photo’s for all of the players. As always both teams did a great job getting their kids exposer putting winning secondary right. World Yacht batted 12 in the final and threw 5 pitchers while LI batted 10 players. We had great weather on Sunday and all of the games were played on the weekend.
Just wanted to give a word of thanx to the Port Chester people for a great tournament—
despite the heavy rains on Saturday afternoon all the games were played and the fields were in great condition on Sunday-we are looking forward to returning for both events next yearthis a great battle blog…where the hell is anyone with knowledge about what the local guys did there ???? how did college select, nr braves, taconic do??
College select and Taconic played very well but only went 1-2 . While the braves came within one out of a big up-set over the CT Bombers.
thanks for the update insider.
looking at the rosters how did the local guys play…. college select had alex and greg pezutto from hastings and dan collins from brircliff, i think they were all , all-secton players last spring. how did they play? nr braves has many newro HS players up and coming. how did they play?
taconic has many west/put kids. how did they play?
College Select went 2 and 1 with 15 year old RHP Sal Romano making the All Tournament Team. The 2 victories came over New England and the Jersey Twins,
Collins did not play—-the Pezzutos played very well
yea collins was too busy playing for the briarcliff football gettin massacred by kennedy 27-7
Hey Josh have you heard of any more college commitments?
I have a bunch I will be posting soon.
Hopefully this time people will believe me after I announced the Green and Hirschberg signings first.
my son played in port chester last weekend. nice tournament great teams and great players but not to many local kids. where are all the good local players?
The Clippers, College Select and New Rochelle had local players.
So did Taconic. All local kids. Nick Boyd threw a no hitter. Many of the local kids played well
Here is this weekends schedule:
http://newyorknine.org/CC/tournySchedule.htm
this is a westchester blog … who cares
Insider,
Actually its a Section 1 blog (Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and some Duchess talk because they are not covered by the JN)... and the New York Nine and their tournament has Section players in it… No need for the attitude
Insider;
This IS a section 1 blog but there is like 1 player from section 1 in that tournament and not one person from section 1 cares who is playing there. Taconic was supposed to go but backed out.
If i am wrong let me know who is there and how they are doing
I just checked their website for the teams attending. doubt there are any Sec1 kids at all. Did not see any rosters or the promised pitching match ups listed there. A couple of decent team playing though. Would like to go but cant make the trip to Brooklyn. Could take three hours or more to get way out there. Traffic is a nightmare on Sunday
Local players who stood out last weekend
Andrew Nassayan 2010 NR LI Titans
Michael Nolan 2010 Yonkers
Alex Pezzuto 2010 Hastings
Keith Kaplan 2011 NR
Collin Moran 2010 Iona Prep
Mike Tandy 2010 Montrose
John Pilla 2010 Scarsdale
Ryan Pennell 2010 RCD
Joe Arena 2011 Lakeland
Chris Bates 2010 Regis
Nick Boyd 2010 John Jay EF
Johnathan Demarte2011 Lakeland
Bret Viola 2012 Carmel
hey battle at the border what tournment were you watching? some of your names are a joke.thee blogs are like you- pathetic
RECRUITING NEWS:
Zach Tax from RCD will play baseball at Columbia.Danny Collins of Briarcliff will play at West Point. The rest of these are NOT final but there are strong indications they will happen- Nick Leinigen (Greeley)- Sacred Heart. Forrest Drucker (Pleasantville)- Muhlenberg. Expect Brandon Serio to commit soon..
So who won the NY 9 tournament? Have not heard a thing or seen a score. Who played.
danny collins playin at west point? yea ok
Hey, Battle at the BorderHow about that local Sec 1 player for Taconic Rangers, Travis Loggia from JJEF, 2 for 4, BB, 3RBI’s and another “great catch” in deep CF. By the way he runs a true 4.00 home to 1st and a 6.52 60yrd dash. Has been one of the best fielding outfielders in all of Sec 1 since 2008 and its about time great defence gets a nod… don’t you think?
yea hes is the greatest player to ever live hes going to be drafted by the yankees soon
Jealousy is not a virtue. No sooner than something positive is posted about a team or individual player, the jealous haters arrive who most likely know absolutely nothing about the team or player being mentioned?
We run this tournament to raise money for our Youth league and get exposer for all the hard working and deserving players . There was over 160 players down for the weekend and all of them played hard. This may be the catch you were talking about http://s964.photobucket.com/albums/ae130/battleattheborder/?action=view¤t=DSC_0187.jpg
As always all of the photo’s are free for the players and parents.
Dutchess
Travis L. is a good player. Besides the speed mentioned, he hit something like 4 HRs last year. JJEF has a core group of strong players Loggia, Schult, McKeon…. Boyd pitched for the Rangers, besides him, not sure who else they have to throw ? Maybe Weyant- talented lefty if he plays ball ? RCK up here will be hardpressed to match last year’s record of 18-5. Seth Lamando , a Soph. will anchor staff. Seth is one of the best to come along up here in awhile. Mike Lang LHP
Sr was injured 2009 , if healthy and can go will help. RCK lost a lot of hitting but has a few young players coming. Arlington should be strong, although Camastro, Wallner, and a lot of their pitching is gone. Watch their new Catcher Chris Hart real strong hitter. Beacon has Josy Espinalmight be top position player in Sec 1 and he will also throw for Beacon probably as their #1. Lourdes I know nothing about. These teams constitute the newly realigned league I think. RCK will miss the Putnam teams—- 16-2 against them since 2007. Hopefully, Mahopac and Carmel will play the Dutchess teams in some non league games at least. Shame they had to mess with the league. Hard to pick a favorite out of these teams for 2010.yup- Thats what people said when I announced Hirchberg to Manhatten
JJEF… in keeping the record straight Loggia for John Jay EF had (3) HR, (14) RBI’s, (9) Runs (9) BB and was responsible for producing 20% of his team’s total runs.
His defense was again outstanding as he continued making “great catches” like the one posted by Battle at the Border and he has made only (1) error during all of his JV and Varsity seasons.
JJEF should be looking forward to having another good season with players coming back like those you already mentioned Boyd, Mckeon and Schult. Let’s not leave out Corliss and Pasteriano LHP and if Weyant does comes back that would be a big plus. All JJEF has to do now is limit the throwing errors from their infielders and they will be in pretty good shape. They have a good chance of taking back the Sec 1-C, AA league title this year.
At RCK I agree Lang and Lamando both are two really good pitchers/players and they can hit with the best. Over at Arlington don’t forget newcomers Drumund and another Camastro, while Beacon also has Joey Gonzales. I don’t know much about Lourdes either, but I know there has always been tons of talent here in Dutchess.
Great D , Thanks for the update and the names of other players to watch up in Dutchess. It is gonna be different without Mahopac+Carmel but Beacon should be competitive. Can you fill us in on who else might throw for Arlington and JJEF besides the guys you mentioned ? How did Boyd do for the Rangers ? I am assuming he is projected to be JJEF’s #1 guy.Who is going to be at the top of the rotation for Arlington ? What position does the younger Camastro play ? Doesn’t Arlington have an offspring from the Horton clan on their roster as a pitcher ?
Bill 707 is on to something? If these kids that he mentioned are actually playing college baseball next year that is wonderful from a section 1 perspective.
yes. i know a few may seem random but thats also what people said when I announced the Hirshberg signing
Anyone know who else is going to the World wood Bat Championshops in Jupiter this week??
http://www.worldwoodbat.com/TournamentDetails.aspx?id=383
do not think any local teams went to florida this year, but i am not certain , i believe a handful of kids might have hooked up with other aau teams. very few from this area however from what i was told
Looks like a lot of locals going down with the New York-PG-Dark Green team being coached by the Clippers staff. Also saw Mike Bradshaw, now an outfielder and Johnny Damartee from Lakeland with Marucci Elite out of Louisianna. Haven’t found to many others. Looks like about 20 Section 1 players..
why is Bradshaw now an outfielder and not a pitcher anymore?
WHY WHEN I READ THIS SITE SOMEBODY IS ALWAYS PUTTING DOWN THE BAYSIDE YANKEES? I BET IF WE ALL HAD TO USE OUR REAL NAME OR EMAIL ALL THE NEGITIVE AND UNCALLED FOR INFO WOULD MAKE THIS SITE ONE OF THE BEST TO SEE HOW ALL THE PLAYERS ARE DOING.
ALSO ,THEY WERE JUST RANKED AS THE TOP 40TH TEAM BY P/G CROSSCKER IN THE COUNTRY ,JUST LOOK AT ALL THE PLAYERS THAT HAVE WENT ON TO PLAY COLLEGE AND PRO BALL OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS,
John Melville from Kingston is headed to U of New Haven, Mike Tandy, Chris Erker, Gaston Rojas and Colin Moran are all close to making a decision.
The Bayside Yankees under Marc Cuesta are and have been a great organization for years. Our philosophies may differ, but we enjoy a great relationship and play them every year. They do a great job teaching the game.
Local boys did very well in Jupiter. Our group was 2-2. Ryan Pennell was solid at 86. Saw Jon deMartee pitch Saturday. He was 88 consistantly and hit 90 once in the 3 innings I watched. Dominated his opponent with a great mix of pitches. Jon could be the best pitcher in Section 1 this year. He has thrown over 140 innings between Lakeland, Taconic and showcases (scary). Robbie Aviles gave up 1 run with 3K’s in the 2 innings I saw him throw Saturday. I did not see his second outing. He pitched at 91 consistantly with great action. Over 100 pro scouts sat and watched him. It was very impressive. He is very good! Looked the part of a top pro prospect.
BTW, the Clippers will hold workout/clinics again for any high school players looking to get ready for the hs season starting Jan 3. Check our website for information. This is not exclusive for our players and over 20 colleges have asked to attend.
clipper coach, where is tandy, rojas and erker looking to go?
demarte hasn’t thrown nearly 140 innings. sources tell me he was consistently around 88 and hit 90 at least 5 times maybe more. there was a very high number of college/pro scouts in attendance as he dominated the opposing team’s hitters throughout the game so get your facts straight.
Tell me more about your sources. There was another pitcher on here who was also being dangerously “over pitched”, from the same summer team, according to “sources”
How did the College Select team make out down south. The Clipper team went 2-2 and did not make the playoff cut according to an earlier post.
Marucci did the best but did anyone from here have anything to do with their success?
My facts are straight. I sat right behind homeplate and saw every pitch for 3 innings. 90 one time in the first inning, was 89 a few but pitched at 88. That is exceptional for a player his age. He did pitch 4 innings so it could be very possible that he hit 90 4 times that inning. The point was that he did very well. If you read what I wrote it was a positive for the Section 1 guys. My information with regard to innings came right from his father who I talked to after the game. Those were his numbers. This HS season he was at or above 65-70. Deal with facts and don’t spin.
Coach thanks for the updates and your honesty. It looks like Section 1 has some pretty good arms. These next 2 years will be awesome to see how these guys continue to grow. Do you have any information on Bradshaw or Bates? Any of the guys from our area who played with you really do well? I checked the PG site and saw that college select had a tough time and the Marucci team with deMartee and Bradshaw went 3-1. They were the only locals on that team.
Keep the updates coming. Anyone else hear of any other committs?
marucci lost in the quarterfinals and i heard bradshaw is going to maryland but am unsure if that is accurate.
marucci was a good team from louisiana, but what did bradburry do for them since he did not pitch? maryland? get real? maybe mercy, concordia ect but they will sour very quickly also for lack of production/attitude
coach, where is tandy, rojas and erker looking to commit?
UCLA,Clemson and Texas
I will leave the schools up to the individuals if they want the information out there before they make the decision. After this weekend where Rojas was very good, things opened up for him. Erker has a few NE schools and 2 FL schools on the table. Tandy has schools in TX, GA, Tenn trying to work a deal. All fun stuff but trying to find the right fit academically as well as athletically and geographically is the challange.
I truly dislike to post on here because there are too many negative minds on here who fail to see the entire picture but to answer the question as to how College Select did in Jupiter—
we stunk up the joint but all the kids got looks-Jupiter is not necessarily about wins and losses but getting the kids seenwe even had players from out of the region with us that wanted to be seen by certain colleges or who colleges wanted to see and that happened-now we see how it pans outWhile it is true that Coach Mercurio spoke with me in Jupiter and was aware that deMarte threw “about 60” (actually 63.33) innings during the high school season (over 9 weeks = approx 7 innings per week) ....... he has thrown 56 innings total over the past 20+ weeks (143 days) which includes the Taconic Rangers, Marucci Elite and all showcase/other events. That translates to about 3 innings per week for summer/fall. He also threw 4 innings late Dec. 2008 in Florida. He’s now off until mid-January when preparation begins for 2010. From my observation, most starting pitchers throw 3 or 4 innings at the summer/fall showcase events or tournament events (Rangers, Marucci, Clippers, NY Nine, Bayside, Youth Service, LI Titans, Arsenal, Diamondjacks, etc). In this way, the scouts or recruiters can see multiple pitchers as they assess those they might have an interest in playing for their school.
If a player is used once or twice a week with a rest in between that is fine, but facts are your son was used in high school with little to no rest between games especially in the playoffs and with TR back to back to back days. Using 200 + days to drive your point home is not correct. Both the high school coach and the summer coach pushed this young man and I hope it doesn’t come back to haunt him when the colleges come calling. He is way to good a prospect to be abused.
I Have a new commitment to announce tonight as long with some knew offers. hopefully people take notice this time
ANTHONY LANZAAA To TEXAS AM
FYI:
Jonathan never pitched back-to-back-to-back days. If someone thinks they have an issue with Coach Fletcher, just give him a call. His reputation speaks for itself, but you can ask the college coaches. They don’t have an agenda.
anyone know how much it costs to work out at the hardball facility?
More FYI: I have been at almost every event that the Rangers were at and never saw Jonathan used or abused in any way that is spoken here. Coach Fletcher was a pitcher and has always done a solid job handeling the Kennedy kids.
Mr D and I spoke in Fla and he is well aware of where his son is at. He is also very prepared for next year and what has to be done for Jon.
does anybody know about de marte and any schools?
There will be many many opportunities for Jon. I’m sure his mailbox is filling up daily.
Clipper Coach,
What does it cost for those winter workouts starting in Jan??
You can send an e-mail to info@clippersbaseball.org. An information sheet will be sent back to you. We have over 45 players signed up already and committments from almost 20 schools and 4 MLB teams who will attend at some point.
Again, this is not just for those wanting to tryout for next summers teams. For some it’s just for exposure. An example of that was when Boston College came last February, Steve Green was also there for the workout…hmmm. Last year 10 players from Section 1 were invited to the Area Code tryouts after being seen at the workout by NY Yankee scout Matt Hyde who was in attendance.
Clipper Coach,
I can pitch, do you have a catcher? I can bring it in the high sixes.
Best I can do.
josh, are you going to add any of the recent commitments because i know for a fact there have been a few recently or are you going to continue to fall off the face of the earth?
jamaican pitch,
i feel your pain brother. at high 60’s , i do not think clipper dude needs you…but he offers winter work outs that you could use.., but he will not tell anyone what it costs?? are they free or are they so expensive that the average kid should not show up?? what is up with email for info sheet?
hs baseball. All the information is above. Instead of writing here, just drop an e-mail and within minutes you will know the dates, time, cost etc etc.
Colin Moran from Iona Prep has made his decision. After mulling lots of offers he has chosen to become a Tar Heel from Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina. Congratulations !!!
Moran a tar heel? what?
Section 1 can add Mike Tandy to the list as he’ll join John Pilla and Billy Demersky at Young Harris College in GA. Mike is expected to be a two way player for Coach Robinson. He’ll see time on the mound as well as 1B.
Young Harris has just become a 4 year school and has received approval to enter NCAA D2 play for the 2011 spring season.
Congratulations to Mike and his family. Young Harris is a great baseball school!!!
Really , Clipper Coach? you say Young Harris is a great baseball school? Says who? Where is the school and were has it been ? Congrats to your guys on securing a baseball role in college, but please? Young Haris …What?
These guys could probably do better at div 2 schools up here. Get on the stick!
Sometimes I wish that before some of you rip into someone, you take 5 minutes and research. Young Harris FYI has over 30 players drafted in the last 10 years as a JUCO. I think you would have to add up ALL the D2’s in the area to come close to that number and that’s not putting any of them down. They also have over 20 former players now coaching in the college ranks. They have won over 50 games 4 times in the last 6 years and have been a top 10 team 3 times in the last 5 years while appearing in numerous regionals and JUCO World Series. Now I’d back my comment about it being a GREAT baseball school.
Here is the link to all the info for you..http://www.yhc.edu/athletics/baseball/welcome-.aspx
Our Philosophy has been and still is, there is a place for every player to play at the next level, who is willinng to put in the hard work and can get over the D1 hoopla. There are so many programs that would love to have kids from the NE.
Clipper Coach
I sent 3 e-mails to get info about your winter program and have yet to receive a response. Is there a problem with your e-mail????
BB DAD,
I have been responding to numerous e-mail requests daily in my travels. Please send it today and I will make sure you get it ASAP. The response has been a bit crazy.
Hey coach I got mine right away. Thanks, C ya in January
Have all our local baseball commits been reduced to schools like this?? What ever happened to getting an education first, baseball second??
Is UNC not a good school? How about Elon, Albany, New Haven, Winthrop? All of these are excellent Academic schools. What happened to people who prove they are smart by what they write
How much does it cost to work out wit the clippers…...is it a mystery or a ever changing number? whay gines?
Clipper Coach, What about the other kids on your team how are they looking, it looks like you focus on only a couple of kids.
Colin congrats, do work
Anyone hear about Michael Bradshaw (2010) from stepinac committing to… ?
Interest, just to answer your question about my/our concerns. Today we just had our 10th player commit. You have no interest in him since he’s not from the area and he’s headed to Tenn. I spend almost everyday on the phone with coaches trying to help some additional guys find a home. Last year the number was almost 20 with a majority of them being D1 guys.
Keep in mind that when it comes to recruiting it’s not all about how you play. The most important factor that I/we stress is academics. If you have good grades and ability many more opportunities become available. Thats a mix of school grades and SAT/ACT scores.
Wow . He joined you for “2 games” and you take credit for it!! tenn was probably following him and saw him with you on your team.
Interest, you are absolutely right. Tenn is always up here watching kids. The fact they saw him play the 2 games came from his father and not us.. Can’t win.. Understand this, you only need one coach to like you and he may see you play 1 game.
Clipper Coach,
I have sent 4 e-mails to you guys about winter workouts and still have not received a response!!!!!
BB Dad, I have not received any e-mails that I have not responded to. Either your sending them to the wrong place or somethings fishy. I asked you just the other day to resend and I had not received any that did not get responded to. Check your junk mail file and see if the response is sitting there or try again info@clippersbaseball.org Every one of the over 50 requests have been answered and a form has been sent back.
If you’d like to leave your e-mail here or forward it to Josh, someway or another we’ll get the form to ya.
BB dad ask them straight out how much it is – expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BB Dad if you go to the website http://www.clippersbaseball.org and click on winter workouts, the application is there.
Interest, do you play the game or just sit and hope to trash everything written. I believe our workouts are less expensive then most video games kids are playing these days and are defintely less then some teams charge to play 1 weekend. You are more then welcome to come and introduce yourself and enjoy a workout or just evaluate it.
Considering we rent the facility and have to, by NCAA rules pay every coach who comes in to work as an instructor.
To all of you hypocrits who come on here and trash these organizations who provide opportunities to play and learn baseball all year round, and if lucky enough help a young person get into a college or the least show him or her a better way, I suggest you take the time to do what they do for one year, I guarantee you will never write a negative about them again. I have been on both sides mostly as a coach but many times as a parent in the stands. I didn’t always agree with the instruction or how often one player played over another, but what I did realize was the unselfish committment that all coaches put in. My son never played for the Clippers but has played on similar teams over the years so I speak from lots of experience.
If you don’t like the cost don’t do it if you want your son to be treated as the only star then don’t do it if you think you can do a better job step up to the plate and coach otherwise plain and simple shutup
WELL SAID!!!!!! , ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE CLIPPER FAMILY ,JOE ,MIKE MY SON NEVER PLAYED FOR THEM ,BUT WHEN I NEEDED ADVICE OR HELP JOE ALWAYS HELPED AND STILL IS THE FIRST ONE TO RETURN A CALL ,HE SPENDS MORE TIME HELPING OTHER KIDS THAN SOME OF THERE OWN PARENTS,SO IMHO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOMETHING NICE TO SAY ,JUST KEEP IT TO YOURSELF,
if it were not for the clippers my son probably would not be playing in college thanks guys
BB Dad, did you get the application off the website? Or did you get an e-mail back from me? I did respond to 3 between yesterday and today and being that I don’t know who you are..Don’t want you to get closed out after all the trouble.
clipper Coach
Thanks, I did get the application off the website.
Also, the cost of the Clipper Workout is less than what the NY Nine and the Bayside Yankees charge so to all the doom and gloom guys out there, get your facts straight before you come on here trashing everyone.
All I want is for my son to be able to get in good, quality workouts that will help improve his baseball skills.
Interest – why do you run some workouts instead of running your mouth?????
