We’re down to the final eight teams in each class. It will be three more days until the champions are crowned. But that shouldn’t stop us from evaluating the field.
Based on the teams that are left, how do you think Section 1 will perform in the state tournament? Will we get one state champion like last year? Or three like in 2009? Or is this a down year where we’ll get none?

Last week’s poll asked which you’d rather have, a league title or one free sectional win. By almost a 2-to-1 margin (65%) you chose a league title. I have to admit, I’m surprised at that vote. League titles obviously mean a lot to people.

I wouldn’t be surprised by the results to your question – - (a) league championship (bird in hand) vs. (b) one free pass in the sectionals (not even two in the bush).
Most readers of your blog follow teams that have extremely long odds of making it through the four or five wins that it takes to bring home the sectional gold, so their choice of league gold makes eminent sense.
