With so many games being postponed tonight, I thought I’d post an update on who the statistical leaders are at this early point in the season. Through three and a half weeks, some teams have played quite a few more games than others, but it’s always fun to see who sits near the top in each category.
I want to stress that I cannot guarantee that every stat on here is 100 percent accurate. If a coach did not call/email in just one game, it can throw things off. With that being said, our records seem to be pretty thorough, and I’m hoping it will provide more incentive for coaches to get us everything if they have a player who is being left off.
I’ve gone with three major categories for both hitters and pitchers, plus added some extras next to each player in parenthesis. (NOTE: With the Dutchess County teams being outside of our coverage area, I didn’t include anything for players like RCK’s Seth Lamando. We don’t have enough of their games in our system for me to feel comfortable putting stats out there.)

Solomon Schechter’s Josh Becker has 3 home runs on the season.
Forgione – Harrison 2 – 0. 0.00 ERA. Bruckner is hitting over 500.
Polera is hitting over 400
Robbins pitched 6 2/3 vs Nanuet. Only 3 innings vs Nyack and 7 inns vs Rye Neck. 16 2/3 total. Also he has only given up 2 earned runs. 0.84 era.
Your info for Robbins is wrong. He definitely has below a 1 era. Check maxpreps
Mahopac’s sophomore southpaw, Kevin Kernan: 16 innings pitched, 20 K’s and only one HBP and one walk. Watch out!
And Mahopac’s Matt Bass (Sr.) and Anthony Lenahan (Jr.) have been stellar, too.
Not to mention Mahopac seniors Elliot Haight and Vinny D’Ambrosio tearing the cover off the ball, with help from fellow senior Chris Romano and juniors Mike Komendowski and Christian Riefenhauser.
Chris Leonard is 3-0 (2.47)
Matt Cecchetelli has 9 RBI’s
Anthony Godino 13 hits (.520)
Thanks.
Would love to see overall team records soon.
Where has Section 1 Guy been? Anybody know?
Peekskill
Kevin Slocum: 2 HRs and 12 RBIs
Nick Soto: 29 IP, 37 Strikeouts, 3-2 (W-L)
If the lazy coaches would send accurate stats in after each game they would not be out here complaining their guys are not listed. Shame on the lazy ones who do not allow their players to get local recognition.
Wow Mahopac has an All-Star at every position, we should just give them the Championship now!
okay calm down PacMan, would love to see you guys play an Elite team….
People from Mahopac need to relax a little bit.
Well said Son of a Gun, however please remember that it is the job of the home coach to call games in. Therefore, can’t call them all lazy. Plus I hear no one complaining.
Alec Eisenberg is 2-0, won both his games, looks like they missed one
The only Stats that matter at the end of the day are WINS for your team!!!
OK , In the Stands, point taken. Then the coaches out here offering player stats are probably not the lazy ones , but the visiting team.
Then Lo-hud needs to take stats from both teams every game.
The lazy, incompetent coaches will have none, and the good coaches will have all their player stats in the system, whether they are home team or visiting team.
If you leave it to home team, the stats will never be accurate with all the ignorant coaches who do not give a damn about their players and are in this for the wrong reasons.
Great follow up. Hopefully they take your advice.
Keep it up pac fans …they mocked our basketball team too ..made it championship and lost against eventual state champs …with our pitching we can play with anybody in section 1 ..jjcr not a real team ?..we only tied because of a couple of errors late ..it was 5-0 on the 5th..carmel not a real team ?...let’s see when the dust settles ..pitching is the game and we have 10 deep and most are underclassmen …
This is a nice idea to post these stats but this newspaper does an awful job with statistics, records, standings, etc. It has absolutely no credibility. There are also plenty of cases where coaches submit score reports only to have them inaccurately recorded during the season. Try using the stat site and tell me that is even a satisfactory job of displaying and maintaining stats for a season. Not all stats are kept anyway. The paper and blog might be good for somethings but stats and records are the worst part of the sports section.
John 711…Are you still promoting that unchallenged team??? JJCR is a real team. Just not a real good team. Good pitcher in Will Jahn, but not much behind him. As for Carmel, Please stop calling them a good team. A couple of good pitchers, with absolutely no defensive skills behind them. The dust has settled in Carmel.
Oh by the way…great win on Saturday vs. powerhouse Lourdes. Good to see you were able to pull that one out.
Please stop telling us how great Mahopac is until you play some teams outside of that weak league you play in. Get back to me after a JJEF, RCK, or Arlington game.
Brewster beat Arlington…....
Seems Mahopac beat RCK last year even though Seth Lamando (you may have heard of him) was on top of his game. So we beat the best pitcher in the section, if not the state, who threw a one-hitter. This year, as for JJCR, pitcher Sam Mines is no slouch and Brian Gleason is an offensive machine. As for Carmel, we beat Martucci and their ace Obojkovits. I’m sure the ‘Pac boys are looking forward to testing themselves against the other powerhouses in the section like JJEF and Arlington. Don’t be a hater just because their record is 8-0-1. Wins are wins and wouldn’t you like to have a few more?
bradshaw – Why should we relax? You should get yourself some blue and gold gear and join the party. These kids work real hard and they deserve all the praise they can get for getting the job done.
AHS – Last time I checked the team that scores more runs wins. You don’t get extra credit for winning by more runs; one run gets the job done in the standings. This isn’t college football. 8-0-1 is 8-0-1 no matter what the scores are. Sounds like somebody has jealousy issues. Get back to me after Mahopac beats Arlington, maybe even by one run. Wouldn’t that be ironic?
Pac…Arlington beat Brewster. Do your homework.
As for Mahopac beating RCK…Did you really have to go back to last year. Let’s try to keep things in the present. Your blue and gold is untested.
Like I said before ..Arlington college …errr..sorry high school with 5,000 kids should be up there with new ro and monre woodbury and yet year after year you win nothing ..your probably still sore at us beating you in basketball twice this season ..remember the core of this is the team that used to come up and own dutchess teams ..pirates …higlanders ..bombers ..you know who we are …we are coming again !
BTW AHS ..(aka ..brain surgeon ) lourdes game was senior day and a lot of bench players played the whole game …
lourdes is just a good jv team playing a varsity schedule, football is coming,
So?
Do you use highschoolsports.net or MaxPreps?
A lot of kids are missing. Especially in ERA
I’m new at reading these comments but lets try to remember one thing the teams and players no matter the size of the school or division their in are High School players that I think we as fans or parents are privileged to see them play their hearts out for what most likley will be the last time they play school baseball. We all know that saying on any given day. So if Mahopac is playing good baseball they deserve the credit same with all the other schools and players. Lets let the KIDS enjoy the season and us fans appreciate their talent !!!!!!
Agreed
Brewster did beat Arlington…look at maxpreps. Arlington is medicore at best this year. Also I am not disputing Mahopac at baseball this year, I just dont think we need constant pleading to cover them.
To bad dutchess players aren’t listed Lamando would be at top of list.
Paskowski and Joao hitting over .400 with minimum of 10 rbi’s. lamondo is off chart
Bradshaw,
I agree 1000%!!!!
Why does mahopac think they have to constantly remind everyone of their record and the names of all their players.
Because Mahopac is 8-0-1, that’s why. How come nobody complains about the constant mention of Mamaroneck, Harrison, Bruckner, Williams; need I go on. There is baseball further up 684 that deserves attention, too. You’re more than welcome to mention your players if you’d like. I did also mention JJCR’s Sam Mines and Brian Gleason and Carmel’s A.J. Martucci and Easton Obojkovits, so relax. I am a fan of the whole section and appreciate all it’s talent. I just root harder for Mahopac.
anyone who knows the current crop of kids around the section knows Mahopac is in the mix at the top of AA.
Thank you, Billy. I’ve read some of your posts and I know you are a section fan, too.
Go ‘Pac!
what a mistake this was posting stats. Everybody is come out of the woodwork now with fake numbers. Remember hitting 600 in class C in westchester doesnt come close to hitting 350 in you play in the city for a strong team in the city vs top end pitchers .
Mahopac 9-0-1
Why is it that no players from Pelham not getting any recognition. I previously posted in the wrong blog, but Gjon ljukovic has thrown two no hitters in three starts, one against saunders and the other against white plains. David wright has an ERA under 1.50 I believe. These are just two of the many kids being overlooked.
Congrats to Mahopac at 9-0-1, everyone is talking about players stats for this season. Not sure who the guru is for stats research but find the player in the past 3 years who has batted over 410, led his school team in hits ,on base percentage and fewest k’s not only during his HS season but also during his summer season this is a SOLID player year in and year out. This player has real stats and has not appeared on this site’s radar his numbers are REAL so is his game.
Gjon ljucovic is 3-0 with a 0.35 ERA in three possible starts. He also has struck out 29 batters.
Way to go
