Kennedy 5, Beacon 4: At Kennedy, sophomore shortstop Gavin Garay hit a walk-off single with two outs to complete a four-run rally for the Gaels in the bottom of the seventh. Jason Agresti scored the winning run after his two-run double off of the left-center field wall to cut the deficit to 4-3. John Brabazon scored the tying run on an RBI groundout from Joe Drpich prior to Garay’s at-bat.
Beacon started junior Tony Romanelli, who is orally committed to Wake Forest. The southpaw allowed one run, four hits and two walks over five innings while striking out seven, but was taken out to start the sixth inning after throwing 83 pitches. Freshman Jason Antalek pitched an easy sixth inning, but the Kennedy bats got to him in the seventh.
Senior right-hander Matt Kern (pictured to the right) started for the Gaels, allowing four runs, six hits and one walk in five innings while striking out two. Patrick Schetter hit a two-run homer off of Kern in the top of the first, and then Nick Golembiewski and Ryan Frost had an RBI double each in the fifth to extend Beacon’s lead to 4-1.
Agresti and Brabazon each went 3 for 4 for Kennedy, with Agresti finishing with three RBI and Brabazon lacing two doubles.
Byram Hills 3, Croton-Harmon 2: At Byram Hills, winning pitcher John Norrgard scattered four hits over five scoreless innings and struck out seven batters. Frankie Vesuvio scored a run and had an RBI. Justin Drossman and Brian Skelly also scored runs. Adam Shaukat had two hits and an RBI for Croton-Harmon.
Hackley 3, Dalton 2: At Hackley, Kevin Dronzek had two hits and two RBI.
Ossining 4, Blind Brook 0: At Ossining, Jared Kerper had a hit and two RBI. Kevin Haag had an RBI. Brandon Forester was 2 for 3 for the Trojans.
New Rochelle 11, Irvington 1: At Irvington, John Valente drove in two runs. Jayson Gray had a double, a triple, and an RBI. Teammate Carmine Giordano had a double and an RBI. James McLaughln scored for the Bulldogs. T eammates Manny Figueroa and Andrew Brennan each had a double.
Brewster 7, Lakeland 2: At Brewster, winning pitcher Dan DePaoli had a two-hitter and allowed two unearned runs. Matt Hutt had two hits and four runs scored.
Lourdes 2, Putnam Valley 0: At Lourdes, Ryan Basso had the Tigers’ lone hit.
Sleepy Hollow 5, Saunders 3: At Sleepy Hollow, Nick Arduino had two hits with a double and two RBI. Teammate Roniel Munoz and Dionel Infante each had a hit and an RBI. Winning pitcher Mike Fortungo had seven strikeouts and allowed seven hits. Matt Mojica had two RBI for the Blue Devils.
Rye Neck 6, Westlake 2: At Rye Neck, Ryan Aquino pitched a two-hitter complete game with six strikeouts. Matt Garcia had two RBI off of 2 for 3 hitting. Jeff DeAngelis, Mike Dragonetti and Chris Puma each had a hit for the Wildcats.
Carmel 2, Suffern 1: At Suffern, Joe Muccio struck out two and allowed one earned run in the complete game win. Mike Marianello had the team’s only RBI. Jacob Defelice went 1 for 2 with an RBI for the Mounties.
Fox Lane 18, Briarcliff 0: At Fox Lane, Dion Austrie went 4 for 4 with two RBI. Anthony Shkrelja went 3 for 4 with three RBI, a double and a homer. Richard Slenker went 3 for 4, and is now batting .857 for the year. Alec Brown struck out three in five innings for the win.
Fordham Prep 5, Stepinac 3: At Fordham Prep, Sal Cappiello had a two-run single. Danny Hoffer had a one-run double.
Clarkstown North 6, Pine Bush 3: At Clarkstown North, Jake Salesky had a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth as part of a five-run rally. Jacob Fishkin and Matt Dedeo followed Salesky with back-to-back RBI singles. Robert Donnelly stuck out six in five innings for the win.
Mahopac 9, Ketcham 2: At Mahopac, Dylan Jorde pitched six innings with five strikeouts. John Delahanty and Dylan Love each had two RBI off of 2 for 3 hitting. Dan Pagliuca added two RBI.
Pelham 13, Hastings 4: At Hastings, Joe Bitetto and Anthony Manos each hit solo homers for the Pelicans. Robert Nanna and Greg Sigelbaum each added three hits and two RBI. Matt Linder went 2 for 3 with two RBI for the Yellow Jackets.
Hamilton 7, Solomon Schechter 6: At Hamilton, Isaiah Collins drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Alan Robles was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Sheffin Rajan was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Ben Burton, Philip Seidenwar and Bennett Feurstein each had an RBI for the Lions.
Sacred Heart 7, Saint Johns Prep(Queens) 6, 11: At Sacred Heart, Luis Pena had the game winning hit to drive in Albert Flores who was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Leandro Peana was 3 for 3 with two RBI. Tom Rynne pitched three innings and allowed two hits with four strikeouts.
