Pleasantville 6, Briarcliff 3: At Briarcliff, Drew Marino pitched a complete game to earn the win. The 6-4 freshman’s final line was: 7 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 2 HBP, 2 K, 93 pitches (57 strikes, 36 balls). He also added an RBI single at the plate.
James Leyden gave the Panthers an early lead with a two-out, three-run double in the top of the first. Dan Cahill added an RBI double in the following at-bat, and Pleasantville had a 4-0 lead before Marino even took the mound.
Anthony Godino went 3 for 4 with a run scored, and John Tucci added an RBI. Leyden and Nick Greto each scored two runs. Losing pitcher Chris Marinaccio had two RBI and teammate Rob Contento added an RBI double. The loss was the first in the league this season for the Bears.
Tuckahoe 2, Saunders 1: At Tuckahoe, Nick Reisman allowed three hits and an earned run and struck out four in the complete game win. Justin Cucino went 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI for the Tigers. Brian O’Toole also had an RBI for the Tigers. Jake Diaz went 2 for 2 with a double for the Blue Devils. Rob Liptak struck out five and allowed two earned runs. Liptak did not walk a batter in the complete game.
Byram Hills 11, Rye 2: At Rye, Anthony Russo lost a no-hitter with two outs in the sixth inning after a Brenden Tripodi single. Russo finished with five strikeouts and three walks in the two-hitter. Jared Feldman went 3 for 4 with a triple. Jake Nivasch added a two-run homer for the Bobcats.
Clarkstown North 5, East Ramapo 3: At Clarkstown North, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Josh Forman (3 for 3, two runs scored, double, two RBI) drove in Jake Ruckel with an RBI triple to give the Rams a 4-3 lead. Eric Melter got his second hit of the game to drive in Forman with the insurance run. Kyle O’Grady got the win in one inning pitched strikinig out one and got out of a jam where the Titans had a run on third with one out as the go-ahead run and O’Grady got the next three out. Joshua Williams had a triple and an RBI for the Titans. Teammate Bobby Ramos went 2 for 4 and scored twice.
Albertus Magnus 11, Westlake 5: At Westlake, Andrew Schweitzer went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI. Winning pitcher Owen Lorenz also hit a double, a triple and scored two runs. Michael Poggioreale had three RBI for the Wildcats.
Clarkstown South 10, New Rochelle 2: At New Rochelle, John Kukura had two doubles, a grand slam home run, and five total RBI. Justin Rosenberg went 2 for 2 with two runs scored, a double, a walk, a stolen base, and had an RBI. Daniel Dasgupta went 3 for 4 with two runs scored, and a double for the Huguenots. Jayson Gray and John Valente both drove in the runs.
Keio 2, Pelham 1: At Keio, Yuya Morita went 2 for 3. Taka Miyairi pitched six innings giving up one unearned run with six strikeouts. Michael Murray pitched five innings giving up three hits with four strikeouts for the Pelicans. Joe Bitetto went 2 for 3.
Stepinac 10, Mount St. Michael 9: At Stepinac, Chris Rooney (2 for 4, four RBI) got his second hit of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning to drive in Danny Hoffer with the eventual game-winning run for the Crusaders. Skylar Mercado went 2 for 2 with a double and had three RBI.
Lourdes 9, Haldane 2: At Haldane, Drew Ford went 3 for 4 with a double. Stephen Zalys and Kenny Doxey each added two hits for the Blue Devils.
Fox Lane 11, Horace Greeley 1: At Horace Greeley, Richard Slenker had a home run, two doubles and six RBI. Matt Oniffrey had a home run and two RBI. Anthony Shkrelja had a double and an RBI. Justin Ellick had an RBI for the Quakers.
Croton-Harmon 8, Ossining 6: At Croton-Harmon, Beau Dorien and Chris Dreier had two RBI apiece for the Tigers. Kevin Haag had a three-run homer for the Pride.
Pearl River 9, Scarsdale 7: At Scarsdale, Rich Masley went 2 for 3 with two RBI. Chris Flood had two hits and three runs. John Doherty added a double and two RBI. Grant Goodman and Kurt Shuster each had two hits and two RBI for the Raiders.
Mount Vernon 10, Yonkers 7: At Yonkers, Jai Switterberg hit a three-run homer for Mount Vernon. Chris Spence and Larry Johnson added two RBI apice. Phil O’Leary hit a three-run homer for Yonkers.
Edgemont 16, Bronxville 6: At Edgemont, Dylan Levine had five RBI and Nick Petrilli had three. Bronxville had four players with a RBI.
