We usually don’t go too crazy writing about every game that our local pros play, but this is too good of a story not to share.
Our own Chad Jennings (who, if you like the Yankees, is a must follow @LohudYankees) was covering the Yankees game on Monday night in Miami, and the starting pitching for the Marlins happened to be a familiar face. New Rochelle graduate Tom Koehler took the ball for Miami and had his way against the Yanks, out-pitching highly-touted ace Masahiro Tanaka with seven innings of three-hit ball.
It was probably one of the best outings of Koehler’s career, lowering his season ERA to 3.76 to earn his fifth win of the year. I’ve known Koehler since our high school days at New Rochelle, and I know that he grew up as an avid Yankees fan, so this had to be an incredibly cool moment for one of #lohudbaseball’s most successful alums.
